Online conversation organised by NATO’s Public Diplomacy Division and the Munich Security Conference on the topic of NATO-Russia and the future of Euro-Atlantic security. Panel: 🗣 | Ambassador Baiba Braže, NATO Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy 🗣 | Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger, Chairman of the Munich Security Conference, MSC 🗣 | Ambassador Alexander Vershbow, Distinguished Fellow, Atlantic Council of the US, ACUS 🎤 | Moderated by Luis Simón, Director, ElCano Office in Brussels 📺 Quicklinks/Chapters: ▶️ 00:00 Introduction - Luis Simón ▶️ 03:10 Opening remarks Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger ▶️ 10:12 Opening remarks Ambassador Alexander Vershbow ▶️ 18:42 Opening remarks Ambassador Baiba Braže ▶️ 25:14 Panel follow up questions ▶️ 43:14 Questions from the audience ▶️ 56:18 Conclusion This is a defining moment for Euro-Atlantic security. Russia’s military build-up in and around Ukraine continues. This is combined with threatening rhetoric and Russia’s track record of using force against neighbours. The risk of conflict is real. All NATO Allies have made clear that any further aggression against Ukraine would carry a high price and would be met by a swift response. NATO Allies met with Russia in the NATO-Russia Council on 12 January to discuss the situation in and around Ukraine and the implications for Euro-Atlantic security. The NATO Secretary General has invited all members of the NATO-Russia Council to a new series of meetings to discuss together ways to improve security in Europe. What is the latest state of affairs on the diplomatic and military front? Are Russia’s main concerns and complaints about NATO’s past and current policies and promises valid? What is the future of the talks with Russia about Euro-Atlantic security? Can we reconcile seemingly irreconcilable differences about the core principles of European security and the right of each nation to choose freely its own security arrangements? ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ SUBSCRIBE to this channel http://bit.ly/NATOsubscribe SUBSCRIBE to NATO News http://bit.ly/NATONewsSubscribe SUBSCRIBE to NATO History http://bit.ly/NATOHistorySubscribe Connect with NATO online: Visit the Official NATO Homepage: http://bit.ly/NATOhomepage Receive NATO updates via email: http://bit.ly/NATOemails Find NATO on FACEBOOK: http://bit.ly/NATOfacebook Follow @NATO on TWITTER: http://bit.ly/NATOtwitter Follow NATO on Instagram: http://bit.ly/NATOinstagram Find NATO on LinkedIn: http://bit.ly/NATOlinkedin Find NATO on Flickr: http://bit.ly/NATOflickr #NATO #Ukraine #Russia
