Nine nations came together at a military airbase at Solenzara on the island of Corsica for a French-led Joint Terminal Attack Controller exercise. The role of the JTAC on the battlefield is to direct airpower, artillery and naval assets in support of ground units. The focus of exercise ‘Serpentex 2017’ was to train combat-ready JTACs and aircrews in realistic scenarios.
