        <description>Artem Sytnyk - Head of the National Anticorruption Bureau of Ukraine - interview for the Building Integrity program Artem sytnyk has been appointed as Head of the National Anticorruption Bureau by the President of Ukraine on April 16th 2015. Establishing the Bureau is a program point of the coalition agreement of the Parliamentary majority and a demand of the International Monetary Fund. The bureau addresses anti and counter corruption actions with a special focus on implementing the rule of Law vis-à-vis political leaders. This interview took place in connection with the assessment of the Ukraine Annual National Program (ANP) for 2015. The prevention and fight against corruption section is an important component of the ANP which includes the implementation of the NATO Building Integrity Peer Review’s report recommendations. The anticorruption legislative and political measures have been introduced one year ago by President Poroshenko. Under the lead of the National Defence and Security Council of Ukraine, 9 defence and security institutions completed the NATO BI Self-Assessment Questionnaire and Peer Review Process in December 2013. In October 2014, the Council decided to implement NATO BI recommendations and since, important reforms have been launched and the program of activities increased. Among them, he NATO Building Integrity Program for 2015 and 2016 focus on two lines of efforts. Cognisant that education is a vehicle for change and reforms, Building Integrity provides tailored assistance and practical tool to national military and security academies to strengthen integrity, accountability and transparency in the Ukrainian defence and security sector.
